ハンプティ・ダンプティ

ハンプティ・ダンプティというのは、ルイス・キャロルの発明かと思っていたら（『鏡の国のアリス』）、マザーグースにあるのだという。そこで、調べてみたら、歌詞が見つかった。
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king's horses and all the king's men
couldn't put Humpty together again.

そしてなんと、メロディーもあって、それは《きらきら星》と全く同じ（後半はちょっと違うけど）なのであった。
